MICS 7.0 with T-1 4

I have a fractional t-1 (12 channels)E&M wink working in my MICS 7.0.
Problem is I have DID,s and the only way I can get my DID,s to route correctly is to set channels 1-6 to DID and leave channels 7-12 as E&M so we can dial out.
What setting can I change to or have the carrier change to that will work. Thanks for any help.

A T1 is less flexible than a PRI. T1 channels are usually configured for only one function, either 2-way calling or DID. You'll need to go to a PRI circuit to get the flexibility you're looking for.

I have been installing Norstars for over 12 yrs. and I have had to do the same thing that your doing with fractional T's having to split between DID for incoming and E&M for making calls out but if you split them right then you shouldn't have any problems like exsmogger said this is not a PRI...

Maybe you could get away with 4 DID channels and leave 8 for 2-way calling. Depends on your traffic patterns.

If you program your E&M for Auto Answer then you can use them for inbound and outbound. It will roue just like a DID circuit for inbound calls.

I had the same thought, but wouldn't that cause a problem with non-DID incoming calls? If they are all DID then that might work.

No if there is no Target line built the call will go to the Prime Set of the E&M Line.

Right. But I was wondering since the lines are set for auto answer wouldn't the system just wait for received digits? Or is there a timeout setting?

These channels are setup as E&M from the carrier and I have programmed target lines for all the DID's. They are all DID's. I currently have 1-6 as E&M and 7-12 as DID in line programming.
So if I change all the channels 1-12 to auto answer I can change all back to E&M and my DID's will work and they can dial out as well?
