MICS 7.0 & DND override

I have a client that wants to be able to override a DND set when instructed to by the ext. user. The ext. user wants the recp. to ring his phone when certain people that he is expecting call so that while in a conference he will be able to be reached.

Is there a way to override DND?

not that I'm aware of.

Here are some options

(1) Have Recpt. Call His Cell Phone and tell him to, (Take The phone off of DND)

(2) Have Recpt. Walk over to his office and Knock three times. (Which means Take The phone off of DND)

(3) Have Recpt. Make an Overhead Page

(4) Leave DND Deactivated

There are more ways but those would be the best

I seem to remember from my old Norstar days the priority call feature 69. However, I think it only applies if you are already on an active call?.

Firebird is correct, allow priority call on the secretary's phone, then call the ext in question and you will be presented with Priority barge in.

Priority only works while on a call

Why do a Priority if the phone is Idle?

Priority call will work on an idle phone on dnd. if the party you wish to intercom is on dnd, you will be presented with a priorty overide.
