I am trying to add a 2nd 6 Port Fiber card to a Nortel MICS system. The system has 85 active telephones, 2 T1 card with 2 PRI's. I have 6.1 software on it. I tried installing the new 6 Port fiber in the first slot of the cabinet, my original 6 Port Fiber Combo is in the 2nd slot. Then 2 T1 cards. When I insert the new card the system continues to initialize and all telephones blink. I have waiting up to 30min. and no luck in the system bootup. Does anyone know what the problem is?

Note: Use Slot 1 only when installing cartridges for 14-port, fully
expanded (mega) systems. In this case, both slots 1 and 2 are
installed with 6-port Expansion or a Combination Fiber 6-port
Services Cartridge. If you use both slot 1 and 2, the software must
be MICS-XC.

From the doc's. What software do you have?

If its not working, get a bigger hammer!

Splic3d is right: you need the XC software to add a second expansion cartridge.

Until you get that software, you can remove the combination cartridge you just added. You system will boot as if nothing happened.
