I've heard conflicting reports of this actually working without buying $12k in VOIP licenses. I have a base office with an MICS 6.1 with about 85 users. I'd like to get a point-to-point T1 to interface this office with a new remote location. At the new location I was told I can put a BCM50 and 40 users, and all I would need is a new T1 trunk card and both locations. I wa sjust recently told this isn't possible without a VOIP gateway in between. Can anyone point me in the direction of the real truth here?

You can have a Pt to PT T1 beetween 2 sites with no codes, you need to build target lines at each site to match the extentions.
If you were using your data network you would need the keycodes but with a T1 you do not need them. If possable program the T1 as a PRI. You would need a PRI enabler for the norstar but not for the BCM.

Great, thanks for the response. At the MICS we are already on a PRI, so I'm assuming the enabler we currently would work. I'm going to be bringing a vendor in on this, but I've heard conflicting reports of what is and isn't possible here.
