I have a friend that is deciding between an Option 11C and a MICS 6.1. The vendor pushing the Option 11C told my friend two things I am not sure of:

1. DID’s (Target Lines) placed on multiple sets (say 10 or 15) as a hunt group, will not ring on all the sets.

Exmpl.:

Set 101
Btn. 1 = Target Line 160 R & A
Btn. 2 = Target Line 160 R & A
Btn. 3 = Target Line 160 R & A
Btn. 4 = Target Line 160 R & A
Btn. 5 = Target Line 160 R & A
Btn. 6 = Target Line 160 R & A
Btn. 7 = Target Line 160 R & A
Btn. 8 = Target Line 146 R & A and is Private to Set 101

Set 102
Btn. 1 = Target Line 160 R & A
Btn. 2 = Target Line 160 R & A
Btn. 3 = Target Line 160 R & A
Btn. 4 = Target Line 160 R & A
Btn. 5 = Target Line 160 R & A
Btn. 6 = Target Line 160 R & A
Btn. 7 = Target Line 160 R & A
Btn. 8 = Target Line 147 R & A and is Private to Set 102

Set 103
Btn. 1 = Target Line 160 R & A
Btn. 2 = Target Line 160 R & A
Btn. 3 = Target Line 160 R & A
Btn. 4 = Target Line 160 R & A
Btn. 5 = Target Line 160 R & A
Btn. 6 = Target Line 160 R & A
Btn. 7 = Target Line 160 R & A
Btn. 8 = Target Line 148 R & A and is Private to Set 103

2. When one DID that has multiple appearances on several sets is answered, the lamp indicator will not light when answered and will not flash when placed on hold, allowing another set to pick up the held call.

Are these both true?
What is the max amount of sets a target line can appear?
If all the sets have the same target line to appear and ring, what set(s) will ring?

1. it will ring all the sets
2. true
3. never tested to see on a DID ....have had copper trunks on old square systems ringing 30 sets

answer to Q2.

target line is not a physical line, so if a set puts a call on hold ...only that set can take it out of hold (or rolls back to the prime set)

Note that there is a suggested limit of four line keys per telephone. You can program more than four keys on a telephone by programming less than four on other telephones. For instance, you might program 20 keys on a receptionist telephone equipped with a CAP and only three keys on the 20 telephones connected to the CAP.

You can assign up to 16 System Wide Call Appearance
(SWCA) keys to each telephone in a group. This is performed
under Button programming, located underTerminals&Sets, User Preferences. SWCA controls are controlled by feature codes F*520 to F*535. The user can also program this feature on
their own telephones using these feature codes.

On the system, under Feature Settings, SWCA Cntl you
define how incoming calls get associated to SWCA keys and
how Hold will handle the calls.

The Auto Associate setting determines if answered calls will
automatically be assigned to SWCA keys (Auto Associate = Y).
If you want the user to press the Hold button or a free SWCA
key before the call transfers to a SWCA key, set Auto
Associate to N.

Calls remain assigned to SWCA keys for the duration of the
call.

I'm not sure when this feature was added, but it's in MICS 6.1.
