I have to connect 2 MICS 6.0 together in the same office using PRI & Centrilised VM. Can someone verify some questions:
The inventory list is:
1- 2X MICS (+ Station Modules & 1 C1 card In remote MICS)
2- 3X DTI cards (1 will be for a PRI delivered by the telco)
3- 3X 6 Port Conbo Expansion Card (1 set up DMS-100, 2set SL-1)
4- 2X PRI Enabler
5- 2X MCDN Enabler
6- 2X 6.0 software (1 6.0XC & 1 6.0)
7- 1X 16chan. NAM 4.1
8- 2X RAD
Is there any equipment or Keycodes that are Missing or should be deleted???
I have installed 100's of MICS with PRI, so that part is not hard...I have also tied MICS together with T-1, so what is the Trick with PRI and Centrilised VM and AA???
Thanks for any Help!!!

Your inventory list looks good. The biggest thing in setting up your systems is to not have any overlapping DN's.
my lab does not currently have enough equipment to do much work with MCDN, so not much exposure there yet. Need to get that under my belt. Keep us posted on how the project goes.

I guess this is the appropriate thread to ask this.
Is there a way to link a MICS and CICS together ? We need to link 2 buildings, about 600' of wiring and would go optic fiber if possible. Is this possible and what's the level of complexity ? (I installed and configured lots of mics and ics with accs but never linked them)

Luc,
What services do you need out of the link?

Only having a few sets at the remote location would be great. If it includes paging, it would be better.

Wait a minute, can I easily extend a 16x0 fiber station module ? Would that be the low cost solution ? Then I guess only paging would be a problem, but then we could hack a set speaker, link it to an amplifier and use F66 to page at that location.... ?

MCK makes a great fiber extender for Norstar modules.
Check out:
600' is not too bad a distance. You can even run on copper at that distance.

Luc,
MCK also makes a multi mode fibre to single mode fibre extender for the station modules. Or if the building is not too far you can go multi mode all the way. Paging is not hard... attach and ATA, put a Bogen TAM-B onto the ATA then att the TAM-B to your amp and speakers and you're done. It works well. If you can do the multimode it will be your cheapest most effective solution. The multimode to singlemode adapters from MCK will be your next cheapest/effective solution.

Cheers
