MICS 5.0 Upgrade

So I have a customer with about 85 phones on a MICS w/R1T1 that was getting flaky with software errors in the error log. Upgraded to 5.0 s/w and now the the Fiber NAM8 3.0 doesn't work! Inactive feature comes up on F983. I tried F903, and it does not work either. Do I have to upgrade the VM s/w as well, or do I need to go DOWN to a MICS 3.0 s/w level? Is there any compatibility issue at all? I was told before buying the upgrade that 5.0 would work seamlessly with the 3.0 NAM. I also do not get why the browser tool and backup does not work with the regular remote utilities s/w i usually use. I am pretty Norstar savvy and this has been a very frustrating upgrade for me. I need VM/AA working ASAP for these guys so any help would be greatly appreciated.

You would need to upgrade the existing voicemail to 4.0 before the voicemail can interact with the MICS..
 
Yes, unfortunately I learned the hard way, that will never happen again! Instead, I went to 2.0 s/w and it is running great. I'll go to 4.0 vm s/w and 5.0 ksu s/w when customer wants features included in the upgrade.
