I HAVE A MICS 4.1 AND WHEN CONFRENCEING THE DTMF TONES ARE NOT RECOGNIZED, DO I NEED TO UPGRADE TO A NEW RELEASE.

IMHO, 4.1 was the biggest/smartest move forward Nortel made. PRI, PCMIA upgrades, and external transfer, not perfect, just successful.

PRI and PCMCIA upgrades was 4.0 Dewey.

External transfer, internal and external dropped calls, PRI lockups, Not in service on transfers ... was 4.1.

4.1 had four separate releases. The last one, working issue 6.15 was the best of them. Most of the bugs were gone and it added support for the MWI on the T series sets.

I wonder if we'll see anymore releases of Norstar in the future. Seems like BCM is taking over Nortels SMB marketing.

I wouldn't be surprised if Norstar became MD'd once the 450 is released & stable. I think they kept it around up until now because the MICS could handle more digital stns than the 400.

Never seen a 4.0, must have been out a month. Seen scores of 4.1, never had any of these issues that are constantly ascribed to 4.1. Guess, I'm just lucky or SoCal has great telco? lol
