Hmmm. First off, I'd like to clarify this is not my first installation...however, I'm running into a wierd problem and can't seem to figure it out. Got sucked into this on a service call, and now it's turned into a royal pain...LOL.

Running a DTI card, with an At&T circuit. At&t is telling me they're outpulsing 7 digits. I've set up the target lines, trunks are set to E&M (two way service) however none of the target lines are routing properly, and are only coming into the prime set on the Trunk lines, not the target lines.

Any ideas?? I'm running out of them myself-

TIA.

Chris

Yes. I've also tried turning the prime set off on the trunks to see if that's what it was.

Receive digits are set to 7, target lines are programmed (last 7 digits per AT&T) but calls still route to the front desk.

Thoughts?

If you have the target lines correctly assigned, I would verify whether telco is using wink start or not. Beyond that, i would say you need to find a way to verify telco is sending the digits.

Have you set the E&M trunks to AUTOANSWER?

Thats what killed me before

The site took a power hit last week, and fried almost everything on the system. It was replaced by another company, however I guess the customer wasn't happy with them so the vendor called me in to "fix things"...LOL.

Anyway, there is another piece to the puzzle. The circuit hits a channel bank first, which peels off two channels (then routes them back out as analog for frame relay to their corporate office...bizarre).

What I'm starting to lean towards is if the channel bank got damaged as well, or even if it was replaced and is somehow not giving me all of the digits or something. The Telco is telling me they have it configured as Wink. And autoanswer killed it (tried everything to get this thing up earlier today).

Going back out tomorrow, we'll see what happens. Lucky me, that it's a two hour drive from my office. Woohoo!

I'd be curious to know what you're talking about. I've never had to mess with autoanswer before (default is manual) to get DID's to work. All the calls need to do is come in and route to the target lines, like they're supposed to- but they aren't.

The system is behaving exactly like I'm not receiving the pulsed digits. If this were a new installation (and not one that had been installed and running for a year and a half prior to a lightning strike blowing it up) I would be busy pointing fingers at the telco. Therefore, what I'm starting to suspect is the channelbank that the circuit is passing thru is hosed, and not passing all the digits thru to me (if any).

I sure thought auto answer needed to be turned on for the trunks so that the system could process the digits to the target lines.

Sorry all, it's been a busy week.

Thanks commsguy, your advice turned out to be correct. I think my confusion came into play with the trunks because it's been quite awhile since I'd configured E&M trunks (most of the installs I've done in the last couple of years have been PRI when dealing with special circuits).

The trunks did have to be set to auto answer. Once I did that, everything popped up fine, with the exception of an 800 number (that for some reason isn't piggybacking on their main line).

Appreciate the help!
