I have a MICS 4.0 that I am trying to upgrade to 7.0 but the phones just blink and never setup. I have removed old cartride while system is running then I power down and install new cartrige and 7.0 software but no change.
I think my cabinet is not compatible with this software.
Part # NT 7553FA-93 REV 9

1st off NEVER remove cartridges or software when system power is on.
2. You need to use an upgrade Kit to upgrade that far.
3. You might need to upgrade the voice mail also depending what you have.

I know what you are saying about removing the cartridge hot but other tech's and myself have used this procedure when all else fails and it has worked in some situations.
Thanks for the brow beating but I will try the upgrade.

You can jump right to 7.0, but it will blow out your telephony and take about an hour or so.

Two ways to do it as we did on all our CICS - not 100 % sure on MICS

Safe way:
You can't go from 4 straight to 7. If you have a 6.1 put it in first, let it boots up, then power off and try the 7.

Riskier:
If you are desparate and already have made a good back up on 4, cycle down and do a F**STARTUP with the 4 and choose a template. At the point where the display reads "Applying template", wait for a bout 6 sec & pull the power cord, insert the 7. and power on. Give it about 10-15 minutes to come up. You might have to do it several time to perfect your timing at the "Applying template" step .

Hope this help
