i was wondering what do these protocols do..

microsoft -ds
netbios-ssn
seagull-ais

okay so
i am running a program that allows me to see all the protocols being used okay
so if that protocol shows up and it has say 300mb of bytes does that mean someone is using up my bandwidth and it is a attacker

if that is on a single pc, on the internet side, i would be worried yes

okay
well this thing monitors the whole network like what every ip is doing
and i looked up that protocol and so far its a t 450MB

should i worry

also when i look up transfers between computers that microsoft-ds protocol shows up as the protocol being used

If I were you (but I am not) I would stop monitoring as long asa you have no idea WHAT you are monitoring. All those tools 'look' nice and cool, but hardly anyone can use them properly.

I have a saying I use in such cases:
"To measure is to know, if you know what you measure"
