When I use my laptop in the kitchen, if the microwave is on low, the connection is down to 5.5Mbps. If it is on defrost, medium or high, there is no problem: I get 54Mbps.

I've checked the microwave for leaks and can't find any.

Is it just that there is some frequency interference if I run the microwave on low? I don't really understand what is happening.

Microwaved water and plants - please don't perpetuate discredited internet myths:
Claim: Water that has been boiled in a microwave oven (then cooled) is harmful to plants.
Status: False.

Experiments by my former company also showed that cell phones and wifi seem to affect the DNA, again there is no reason for it. The results were disregarded as there could be a billion dollar industry affected.

Again, total paranoid conspiracy theorist rubbish. Nobody has proved this to be true despite numerous studies funded by various groups, independent and otherwise.

Prince Charles would blame 'hostile waves' emitted by the person watering the plants. Did they use a threatening tone when talking to one test plant but not the other?

It's all bunkum. Too much scientific wool is pulled over our eyes because many science <studies> are being funded by the same company that wants <postive> results. Anti-aging creams, bugs for the guts, and similar outrageous claims are being passed by the advertising standards on tenuous evidence.

Still, there's big money for advertisers, manufactured and retailers in conning people into believing bunkum.

You're absolutely right tf1

It's stuff like this Cellular phone increases the risk of brain cancer (brain tumor) abundantly to be found on the 'net that perpetuates these ridiculous myths. The worst part is that - taking the link above as an example - it all sounds so reasonable.
