Hi,
I am on MSTR 7i - 7.2.1. Have a special rqmt. Have to use DM Report (dm report) as a report filter in another report (2nd report). While running the 2nd report, in which one of the metric is using dm report as a report filter, we want the dm table to be populated also. But, it's not happening - may be due to some valid business reasons.

What I want is while running 2nd report, we want dm table to be populated as soon as report filter built on dm report gets executed. Any tips in the right path would be appreciated.

Thanks,
ArunKKK

funny how MSTR designed the product to avoid what you are doing. Apparently the report-as-filter sql is automatically incorporated into the 2nd report sql...

so the only workaround I can think off to make this happen is to create bat file on your database that you can call as a post-sql for 2nd report. This bat file should access fire off an event in the intelligence server, which will trigger the dm report to run....can't think of anything else more elegant.

Thanks, nlim,

My requirements wouldn't be fullfilled by using procedure in a metric. I do not have any option other than using it in a pre-post statement. Do you think there could be a alternate way of grabbing user prompt parameters values and pass them along to the database procedure.

Any tip would be welcome.
