I am trying to take a 80 page table from Microsoft word and place it into Indesign. When I try to import the table it overflows out of the column and I am unable to resize the information to how I want it. Is there any simple way to do this without losing how the table is organized? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I assume that you have the appropriate page breaks in the Word doc and that the size of the table/page matches the size of the text box in ID.

If so, have you checked Show Import Options in the Place window in ID? Also. have you set a master text frame in teh ID doc so that you can flow the text into subsequent pages?

I do have a master text frame to flow text onto subsequent pages (two columns actually), but when I bring the table into the text frame it goes outside the line of the first column and overlays on the second column preventing me from being able to work with the table as far as setting table column width and such. It isn't a simple table, there are three columns and each row contains different amounts of information and line spacing.

You're best off setting up the table, as much as possible, in Word. So let's say you have 2 columns in ID, each 3 3/4 inches wide and all linked to flow, you'd be best jiggering the table in Word to be 3 3/4 wide.
