Hi,

My personal computer has recently crashed, but luckily my server has a back up of all of my work files. The PC that no longer works was running Windows Millenium, and my new machine is XP.

On the ME computer, I would simply go into a Word template that I created, click on tools->Macros->Run Macro. For some reason XP does not recognize the macro, and it does not appear. I have the macro saved externally, but I do not know how to install the macro to run on that template.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem? I would appreciate any assistance you could provide.

Thanks!

I think Organizer can do this. Open the Word document, then Tools--->Templates And Addins... Organizer. You should be able to then copy the macro from the one it is in now to the one that is open.

I am using version 2003, so the menus and commands may be different for you.

You certainly can copy a macro from one file to another with Organizer.

I am curious. What exactly do you mean by "go into a Word template"? How are you saving the macro "externally"?
