Hi everyone, I have a lot of information I'd like to access quicker but don't know how. Ya know how there are links in websites that bring you down the page for convenience, like the text you want is lower on the page, and you click a link that instantly brings you to it? Is there anything like that that is similar in Microsoft Word. I have subsections that I have to keep scrolling up and down all the time and this sort of thing that instantly brings you there would be convenient. Help is appreciated. Thanks.

Word has hyperlinks.

You might find the Table of Contents and Index generating features useful too.

Try also bookmarks and cross-references.
With them, you can create links like
"see chapter 5.1 - working with cross-references for more details."
In this example, the bold italic part would be a cross reference to a "numbered item", cross-referencing the item text.

You can also display the "web" tool bar. Then you have a "back" arrow just like in your browser. After jumping to such a sub section, you could then use the "back" arrow to return to your previous position.

;-)

Cheers,
MiS

Just as a point, to use hyperlinks within a document you hyperlink TO a bookmark. Therefore, bookmark the points you wish as targets, then you can hyperlink to them.

While I would agree with Tony that Document Map can be useful, it is only useful if you have the document properly using styles. Otherwise, Document Map can display - shall we say? - unexpected results.

Not sure if this might suit your needs, but doesn't the Table of Contents in Word allow for double-clicking that takes you to that section?

K the hyperlinks are working well. The only problem with it is that I have to control click it when I'd rather just click it. I guess I'm being too picky and should just take what I can get, but would you guys happen to know a way around this?

That's simple!

Tools-->Options-->Edit--> uncheck "CTRL+Click to follow hyperlinks"

I can't find tools. I'm working with Microsoft Office Word 2007.

I believe that you click the ROUND Office button and select something like Extended Options or Word Options of some button at the bottom of the pop-up.

After that, yer on your own.
