Microsoft Update just killed Windows Explorer

HP Pavilion. A couple of hours ago I got one of those automatic downloads from Microsoft with seven security updates. Something in my gut told me not to install them, but having had no prior problems with this procedure, I went ahead and installed them. Murphy's Law was invoked, and now Window Explorer will not expand into any trees; the bugger just locks up when any plus block is clicked on, forcing me to use My Computer to fiddle with files, which is a major P in the A. Anbody else having this problem?
 
Beleive it or not, at one place I had worked, the help
desk had that for a category and lots of calls were logged to it.
 
Yes, but I bet they didn't say between which chair and keyboard.
 
I think they got it!

After Windows updated my PC this morning I read the update list, and one update related to Dell video drivers.

With more confidence than brains, I updated Windows on three client PCs. Fortunately, the problem no linger exists on those PCs.

Now, I get to try it on several others.
