Could you guys help me, I am having the following problem: I have proxy server installed in a NT 4 Server, the proxy server just stopped working. After it stops working, if I stop and start the services(web proxy, socks proxy) again, it comes back, but when someone tries to use the Internet, it only loads one page and then stops working, so I have to stop and start the servies again for it to work, but it stop working again as soon as someone tries to use the Internet. I really need a solution fast. Thanks in advance.

I have been scanning several discussion groups looking for an answer to another problem I am having with MS Proxy 2.0 but I kept seeing questions like yours. It may be due to the Code Red Virus, try installing the Microsoft security patch for code red and see if that helps.

When the Nimda virus started to spread we did install the security patches for it and Code Red. We even re-installed Proxy with no luck.

Thanks,

Jason

Well, after a long time trying to find a solution, the only thing that worked to fix it was reinstalling IIS.

I'm running a number of NT4 workstations thru a proxy server. on ocaasion when a workstation is re-booted the check box for use a proxy server becomes un-checked after a reboot.it doesn't happen all the time and it might happen on anyone's workstation. I'll put a check back in the box, and then the employee can access the internet again. After I put the check back in the box I rebooted the pc and this time the box stayed checked. Any help with this problem would be appreciated.

Thanks

Richard
