after getting the notice here i found that AU had already notified me that it was available, so i went for it.

suprisingly it is an online scan for active bad stuff, only leaves a log file behind.

what i would really like to see MS perfect would be a program that could actively create, check and update hash values for their system and program files and use this as a monitor of any tinkering with these files/programs by malicious intruders.

You can download the Windows-KB890830-ENU.exe and run it from your computer, well I know you can download and save it, I haven't tried to run it yet to see what it does.

Spyware Blaster is a nice product (and freeware), but it is not a cleaner. Nor is it an anti-worm or anti-virus program.
