Microsoft Lync 2010 Integartion with Avaya MES for Remote Call Control 1

I am trying to setup Microsoft Lync 2010 to integrate with Avaya Aura 6.x. We have purchased MES and I am looking at using Lync for not only Prescence & IM, but also RCC from Lync to the Avaya Handsets.

Has anyone tried this setup yet and if so, do you have any docuemntation around it.

I have ssen information stating Session Manager Integration and AES. Do you require both or only 1 of them.

Avaya One-X Mobile install - both SP4 & SP6 fails to start Avaya Call Control Service and you are unable to restart or start.

Anyone every experience this? Multiple installs have always worked fine, only had this once before and a reinstall resolved it but not on this occasion

Error displays as

Unable to start Avaya Call Control Service

Avaya Call Control Service Stopped

To clarify, there are three current Avaya integration options to Microsoft Lync/OCS:

1. Client-Side Integration - BEST
– Avaya Agile Communication Environment (ACE)

2. Microsoft Remote Call Control (RCC) - OLDER
– Avaya Aura Application Enablement Services (AES)
– Avaya CS 1000 Converged Office

3. Direct SIP - BASIC
– SIP trunk between OCS/Lync and PBX

Also note that SES is not compatible with Avaya CM 6.X as Session Manager (SM) replaces SIP Enablement Server (SES) for the "Direct SIP" option.

Avaya Server ACE 3.X requires "ACE Base and ACE AIE software" with a total list price of $11,200. Minimum two physical servers. (AES is also required but can be virtualized on the same ACE Base server via System Platform.)

Avaya Client side licenses (Lync Add-in) is FREE if you have CMEE (Avaya enterprise licensing) for all seats. If you have CM Standard Edition, ACE client licenses list at $110/ea plus software support (advantage).
