Then technically if some has a computer with a license on it and they get a virus and go to a Computer store and ask for windows to be reinstalled they won't do it unless the person has their installion cds and product key. I just have found more information saying that everything you get with an OEM computer must stay with it.
They ask you for your CD's and key when you ask for a reinstall at a store, so they don't have to go looking for a type of install CD to match your PC and because they need proof that you actually own that license.
See OEM installation Cd's and Retail Installation Cd's are different.
OEM CD's will only work with OEM keys. Retail CD's will only work with retail Keys. If you Pc is OEM then you need an OEM installation CD. a Retail CD will not take the OEM key.
The point is as long as the CD is of the same type as the KEY, it works.
But you can have 1 OEM CD and 50 OEM keys and they will work and its legal to install them in 50 machines.
Do you actually think sys Admins in big companies have a room full of installation CD's for each machine???
No they have X amount of licenses purchased from Microsoft and only a few installation CD's.

Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.
