I've been wrestling with this problem for a little while now...

New machine, installed Win2k Server, installed ISA Enterprise in Standalone mode. All works fine.

Tried to promote the server to an Array, no luck, flashes me an error, I click 'Details' and it says 'No Details'.

Removed ISA, removed the ISA A/D stuff with the tool on the CD. Restarted, installed the ISA A/D schema, rebooted. Allowed an hour for replication, then reinstalled ISA as an Array. Created a new array, it installs the software, then tries to restart the services and hangs. I wait the 15 minutes for the thing to unlock, to find this error in the Application log:

Microsoft ISA Server Control failed to start. The failure occurred during Service initialization because the configuration property msFPCSiteName of key LDAP://serverx.domain.edu.on.ca/CN={784B0F1E-1E4F-415F-446-706C11D2ADBC},CN=Arrays,CN=Fpc,CN=System,DC=domain,DC=edu,DC=on,DC=ca is not valid. Use the source location 114.260.3.0.1200.166 to report the failure. The error code in the Data area of the event properties indicates the cause of the failure. For more information about this event, see ISA Server Help. The error description is: The parameter is incorrect.

Each time I install it, 'serverx' becomes a different domain controller in the network. I have no sites and services set up in A/D at the moment, replication is going out every 15 minutes, as usual. I can't find an answer. I've tried installing it countless times, promoting it, etc. No luck. ANyone else having this issue?

I have the same issue as well. Installing as a stand-alone server all the services will start just fine. When I promote to an array none of the services will start. Error message something like "the microsoft firewall service did not start in a timely fashion" etc. I've installed several times, searched KB articles, installed on different server to no avail. I'm stumped and our security auditors are requiring us to have an array for fault tolerance.

Changing the log on for the services to domain admin account worked for me.

I have also experienced the same issues. Installed ISA SP 1 in standalone mode on 2003 Server and it worked fine. uninstalled ISA, reinstalled as an array along w/ SP 1 and the 2003 udpate and get the same error as noted above.
