Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 Unexpected Quits 1

SYMPTOMS
When I load some web pages in Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer may unexpectedly quit and you may receive the following error message:
Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
This is still a problem after a full format and all the microsoft updates on.

Is "some" a lot, or just 1 or 2 sites? If it is only a couple of sites, have you tried adding them as Trusted Sites to IE, and any similar exception in any Security/Firewall program?

Can you get any further if you try Safe Mode with Networking? What about a different user in Normal Mode?

Make sure your options in IE/ Tools/ Internet Options/ Advanced are correct.

Uncheck the boxes for "Install on Demand" for IE and Other programs (two boxes).

Try running temporarily with the third box "Enable Third Party Browser Extensions" unchecked and see how this goes.

"This specifies that you want to disable features you installed for use with Internet Explorer that may have been created by companies other than Microsoft.
If you encounter problems with Internet Explorer that you cannot resolve, you can use this option to help determine if third-party features are causing the problems without uninstalling the feature. You must restart Internet Explorer after turning this option on or off.

Thanks for your reply I tried your suggestion it seemed O.K for a short while but stated again with this message.
The error message says
Error signature
AppName:iexplore.exe AppVer:6.0.2900.2180 ModName:shdocvw.dll
ModVer:6.0.2900.3020 Offset:000c3205
