Microsoft exchange -- ONLY FOR AN EXPERT!!!

I HAVE AN ADSL CONNECTION TO THE INTERNET, VERIZON " TELEPHONE COMPANY", THEY DONT GIVE ME AN STATIC IP ADDRESS, THE WAY TO ACCESS THE INTERNET FOR ME IS THROUGHOUT THEIR DNS SERVERS.
IF I REGISTERED A DOMAIN NAME IE, ABC.COM , WHAT DNS SHOULD I MAP THE ABC.COM DOMAIN TO AND HOW CAN I CONFIGURE MY MICROSOFT EXCHANGE 2000 SERVER TO RECEIVE AND SEND EMAILS

When you register your domain name they will need to know your IP and who is hosting the A and or MX records. Some of the Domain name registrars :ie Network Solutions will host your records for a fee. If you do not have a static IP address, you can use a relay or proxy agent to receive mail. As to sending mail, set your Exch. server to use DNS and it will send using the DNS entries you have already in place.

Sorry. You are going to need a static IP address. I would recommend you pony up the extra money and get one. Next, You are going to want a proxy server or something between your exchange server and the Internet. Your choice or course, but I wouldn't do it.

The other option is to use a Dynamic IP Domain hosting service like Dynip.com. Companies like that can host the domain and map to a dynamic IP address giving the illusion of having a static address.
