Microsoft Exchange Information Store

Hi all

Today I got the following message:

"The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service terminated unexpectedly It has done this (2)times (It did the first time on /21/2002) The following correction action will be taken..."

The event ID is 7031 Do you guys have any idea of what's going on?

The error message does not give me enough info, and Microsoft doesn't have anything posted about this.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks for your help. I doubt if it is a worm. I did a scan and nothing show. This only happens twice already. If the system would've been infected it will shutdown the information store repeatly. However, I will investigate further.

Hi Javy1,

This sounds like a Antivirus problem.
If you have a Antivirus program running AVAPI like Norton, Nai, Trend and others for Exchange.

Try to uninstall the software and re-apply SP for Exchange.
Many isssues is also solved in SP3 for Exchange 2000.

If you are running Exchange 5.5 replace the Antivirus software with one using MAPI or ESE.
We changed to Antigen to solve the problem.
