I have an Excel app that populates some cells using Microsoft query to get data from an Oracle database. The problem is that when I run the macro that uses the query, I am always prompted for the
Oracle database userid and password. How do I code that in the application so I am not asked for it.
Or, what else can I do so I am not asked for these things?

You might have better luck asking this question in the VBA forum.

However you should look into ODBC connection strings, you can specify a username and password in your macro so you don't get asked again each time you refresh.

A,

"If you can stay calm, while all around you is chaos...then you probably haven't completely understood the seriousness of the situation.

Hi,

There may be some administrative switch set by your DBA.

FYI, my driver is configured with a Data Source Name and a TNS Service Name, BOTH identical. I require neither UID nor Password when I make ANY connection to a DB server.
