Hey. I have a big issue with autosequences and reports. I can't view any reports and when I do a server closeout my workstations freeze up several times and show an error with autosequences. The error on the workstation says "Error Connecting to autosequence PC" After hours of being logged in, Micros said they will have to rebuild it and its going to cost a couple thoussand dollars. Any ideas?

Database is started (green check) and at FOH correct?
I've seen that error with a .BAD db backup. Check and rerun validation. If you keep getting .BAD for database validation then you may need a rebuild. Other than that check for last reboot time, restart AS Server. Make sure default Windows printer is selected.

Database is green and FOH is checked. I have no idea how to rerun a validation...

So I tried to stop the DB service and it says my access was denied...

This is what I was going to try to do...
Step 1) Stop the database

Step 2) Delete the micros.log file

Step 3) Run the following command from the run prompt where D:\ is the drive of your database. You might notice something flash up for a split second but will most likely go unnoticed. (Capital F is important)

DM.exe -F D:\micros\database\data\micros.db

Step 4) Start the database via Micros Control Panel, you should now have a new micros.log file.

I can fix this issue. Ihese are the steps I have done in the past with RES5.x running Windows 7 32bit.
Go to services and find MICROS Autosequence Server select properties/Recovery
next for 1st failure, 2nd failure & Subsequent Failure select Restart the Service. Next go to Task Manager and select processes. Check the box Show processes from all users. Look for Report Exporter and end process. Also, go to the windows host and make sure it has the correct name and IP's as the back office and workstations. Remove any computer names and IP's not in your db. This is located windows/System32/Drivers/Etc/Host. If site is using 2 NIC cards make sure the MICROS one is listed first. This location is: Control Panel/Network & Sharing Center/ Next select on left side Change adapter settings. Select ALT on keyboard so Menu bar shows. select Advanced tab the Advanced settings. Make sure that MICROS is the 1st listed under connections. This can also be caused by a bad report. If a bad report is run it will lock up all reports from running on Back Office and Workstations. Let me know if that works! I have some more fixes!
Good Luck! Have a wonderful Day!

Sorry so long for responding. I did everything and still the same. However, your step that said "Look for Report Exporter and end process" was not there. There is no report exporter there.
So, might it relate to that or a bad report?
