Micros Workstation 5 Not Starting Up

Hi All

I have to look after 8 x Workstation 5 Micros terminals, They work most of the time but after a power failure about 3 refuses to startup.
The bios screen appears, CF loaded but then the Blue Light just flashes.

We then have to unplug and randomly after a few minutes sometime a day they will start.

Any suggestions as to why this would happen or how to fix ?

It's a common problem with the WS5 and I don't know of a permanent fix. I usually try two things:

1. power drain - disconnect power and all other cables, wait a few minutes, reconnect and reboot
if that doesn't work, try again while also re-seating the cf card. If you're still stuck try:
2. attach a keyboard, power up and enter bios, choose "reset cmos to wince defaults" from the main menu and reboot

If these don't work and the unit won't boot at all, in the past I would get the motherboard replaced but Oracle no longer offers these parts so you may be out of luck in that case.
