Micros Simphony - Adding Service Charge to a site using VAT inclusive taxes

Hello.

If a site is is using tax inclusive VAT and they also want to add a service charge, is it possible to have the service charge only calculate on the amount prior to the tax?

For example, if a site has a Inclusive VAT of 16% and an automatic service charge of 15% and the following is rung in:

$100.00 Food
$250.00 Bev
$350.00 Total ($48.28 VAT)
$301.72 Net Total

Is there a setting in EMC to get the 15% service charge to calculate on the $301.72 and NOT the $350.00??

Yes. But the tax is already includes in the price. Not separate. Like this:

I would like the service charge to be on $301.72, NOT $350.00.

If Tax is always 16% inclusive, you can call the Service Charge 15%, but assign a value of (15/1.16) = 12.931%

301.72 * 1.16 * (0.15/1.16) = 43.75
301.72 * 0.15 = 43.75
