Micros RES 3700 error 1261 (db_call_fail)

Hi All,

Recently we took over a rest with a Micros RES 3700 ver.3.1 server and 5 ws4 terminals. We don't need to use credit card link setup in RES3700 from previous owner and using our own external credit card terminals now.

In the payment screen, we still want to use all the credit card buttons (visa, mastercard, etc...) which are linked to "charged tips" to record tips total.

When we are trying to close a ticket by using those buttons, it seems went through OK at first but soon after we got an error message pops up on the screen. Error message below:

c:\res\version_3.1\ops\src\opstp.cpp (1261)
Unexpected Database Error
DB_CALL_FAIL

I have checked over and over again on all the setup which are related to the tips and credit cards links in POS Configurator and checked on the C drive for the file name mentioned above but with NO luck.

I would really appreciate any of you tech professionals can guide me or show me on how to resolve this issue. Thank you all in advance.

I have posted this for awhile and we have bypass this error and manually calculating the tips. We still have not resolve this error. We called Micros and they wanted us to upgrade the entire system and software and the fees are extremely high.

I guess we are the only one that are running into this issue.

By the way, the workstation is Micros Ultra64.

If anyone might have any ideas on how to resolve this error, please post on here.
