I am trying to find a way to get our daily reports in a format that I can import into excel or an access database. Currently our reports print to a printer daily 5 am, we then manually enter them into a database for our accounting department. We purchased reporting and analytics online subscription with the promise that we could do this but now we have learned that not every report is actually available. Does anyone know how to build a custom report on mymicros.net or have a way to get the current reports in an editable format? Thanks!

If you have a subscription to mymicros.net reporting and analytics, under the tools section there is a report mail wizard that you can customize a report to be mailed to you. There you can choose the export format.

Or setup a script that outputs your info using sql. You can also use the export utility in demo mode if need be to help build your sql (not sure if this still works)

Perhaps this helps too
if you set print to disk file name in poscfg in autoseq and reports
the file ending can be pdf,html,xls,txt,doc and it creates a file with the specific report.
this works from v5.0 up...

in res 4 it is a need to first copy the specific dll from crystal reports becsause it use the txt dll as standard.

Thank you for the suggestions. I would think that the online subscription would be my easiest option but I have not been successful with getting it setup correctly. I also have not had much free time to try and figure out the online report customization. POSKitchen, do you know if there is a way to add a date stamp or some sort of variable to the file name that is generated? I ask this because we don't have anyone looking at the reports on the weekends and I see that the file gets overwritten every time that it is generated. Wildbar, some example code for the script would be greatly appreciated. We are not licensed for the export utility so if that is crucial to the script then that solution is not beneficial to me but might be to someone else. Thanks everyone!

We save all our report files to pdf through the end of night autosequence. They get date stamped then sent to our back up and mailed out to anyone who should be getting that report.All pretty easy and painless. Use one step in the autesequence to save the report as a pdf (or excel or whatever. Then call a script to date them. Here is an example of ours ....this is just the date stamp script. Will post an sql export in a bit.;
