Hi everyone, I've micros 3700 v3.2 sp7 hf6 under w2000 server
I take a look to the 'd:\micros\database\data' directory and shows 'micros.db', 'MICROS.LOG' and 'MICROS.MLG' files(and others),I think that the 'MICROS.LOG' is a 'MUST' for the 'micros.db', then what is the real matter for the 'MICROS.MLG' file?, Do I may delete it, or keep it?

Thanks

MLG is a mirror log file in Sybase. That is not something standard you'd see with Micros; not sure why you're seeing it. That said, I have no idea what the repercussions for deleting it would be. I don't think it would be anything negative given I've only ever seen these created manually, so I don't think the system will freak out if it disappears.

Hi everyone, I've micros 3700 v3.2 sp7 hf6 under w2000 server, my hardware is a Dell Poweredge sc1430 server with 2gb ram and 500gb hd
When performing the 'end of day' task, it tooks already 1 hour and 30 min,(yes it is), the actual size of the micros.db is 2,308,960kb
so I need to speed up the process.
Do you have any idea if moving up to 8gb ram can get better performance ? or rebuilding de micros.db sure help ?

Thanks

Thats a large database....ours is large as we use PM and LM and its only half the size of yours. I would think possibly something isn't purging or your historical totals are set for too long a period to keep totals for. I would recommend a database rebuild....we do one about every quarter. See what size your database is after a rebuild. Adding RAM will help somewhat for sure but i would think there is something else going on with your database. Our system processes an end of night in about 20 minutes with database backup etc.

Hi Wildbar, how/where can I see the possibly if my historical totals are set for too long? so I can purge them all
thanks

POS Config", "Reporting", "Historical Totals"
Also take a look in your Micros log and see if something is getting stuck or not completing during your day end.
Make sure the procedure "Purge Historical Totals" is called in your end of day somewhere.

Wildbar, I look 'POS Config', 'Reporting', 'Historical Totals' and the 'Classes' tag, and shows this
'Historical Totals Record View'
'Number ' 110 and 'Name' PM Totals
Tracking Group is '109 Standar'
Number of Days History is '370'

and the 'Do not créate daily total' IN NOT CHECKED
