Micros Menu Item bitmaps 2

I feel stupid having to ask but have never messed with assigning bitmaps to menu items.
We are using Micros 3700, I have 3 stores running 3.0 and 3 stores on 4.0.
I can add icons to menu items with no problem, how do I add new bitmaps to
the list of icons ? I am drawing a blank on something that should be easy.

Make your bitmaps 125 pixels by 125 and save in the bitmaps folder in the POS folder. Will need to copy them to the bitmaps folder in the CAL directory as well.

I must have made the bitmaps too large,
I had tried just dumping them in the bitmaps folder.

Is there a rhyme or reason as to how the files are named when
Micros displays them ? There must be several thousand images
yet I only have 50 or so images in my bitmaps folder, I created
a bitmap at 125 x 125 but still do not see it displayed as
available. I just quickly looked and will scroll thru the available
images again and see but the image naming / numbering does not seem to
corespond to the images in teh bitmaps folder.

Sorry its been awhile since i have dealt with bitmaps and doing this from memory. Are you asking about bitmaps or icons? Where are you trying to find them?

I think you are looking at icons. Making custom icons sucks....
Using bitmaps om an slu screen set your menu item class to "use name 2" for the menu item you want to have show a bitmap. Then in name two enter "~~test.bmp" where test is the name of the bitmap you saved in the bitmaps folder.
For hard coded screens use "~~test.bmp" as the name of your key

In the pos configurator menu item set-up
assigning an icon to a menu item

I know I have worked with this before and am
drawing a blank as to where to add icons to
the list of available icons, there is the list of
standard micros icons, tables, NEW, bitmaps of food
items etc... I am wanting to add custom icons to this list
such as beer and soda brands. the list in my systems have
a few of the basic beers and sodas so I assume there has to
be a way to add custom ones to it.

That's always been a pain, I don't even bother with custom icons anymore. You have to add the icons to customicons.dll and recompile it, but it's a finicky process; OPS will read into dll's from some compilers but not others. I think I got it to work with a Borland command line compiler back in the day. Also, you need different icon libraries for Win32 and CE clients.
