Hello, in desperate need of help could even offer to pay for services!

We have a very busy restaurant with an old system (upgrading soon). One of our kitchen printers a IDN TM-U220B stopped printing, it only prints to the bar now and the cashiers have to retrieve it and manually take it to the kitchen.

What I've tried, replacing the printer itself + IDN board. We had the wires at the ends tested, put on new ends everything. At one point when I replaced the printer it printed for half the day then stopped. All the tests seem to come out positive, one says Loopback Failed but I read that was normal in normal operation. It blinks a green light on the port fast.

What else is wrong? Thank you so much.

One solution would be to change the interface cards of the printers, from IDN to eteherten, the ethernet interface is stable

Have you tried rebooting the device that host the print controller for the kitchen printer? I am assuming its Micros 3700 you are talking about.
Also go into Manager Procedures and ensure that the printer is set to print and not redirected or disabled.

Well we did not touch anything related to the software so I don't think anything would automatically change do you? This is a 10 year old system (ha!). Is it possible to change to Ethernet interface on IDN lines? Yes we have rebooted the server a few times. Thank yall so much for responses.

Here is Log File Error

Yes....sometimes things change (Or someone changed it with out you knowing) Worth ensuring its set correctly in managers procedures. The log shows two printers not communicating. The print controller usually runs on a workstation close to the kitchen when running IDN, not the server. When you replaced the idn board all the dip switches got set correctly? Are your printers in kitchen daisy-chained? If so how many?

Ok will check, yes one printer is an old printer that we just haven't removed from the system (HOT PRINTER)It is not in any physical location. HOT Printer then defaults to Bar 2 to print the kitchen receipt since COLD is down.

Yea the print controller I'm guessing is the Bar 1 PC because when it's down or turned off the printers go haywire. Yes I made the dip switches the same on the new printer and IDN same as old one. We only have one kitchen printer (COLD REMOTE) which is the one not working. Also what am I looking for in the Manager Procedures? I am doing this remotely so have to ask a staff member to check on the workstation, is it possible to do it server side? THANK YOU SO MUCH for helping man you are awesome. Also I have a back up workstation? Is it possible to replace that workstation and make it the print server to see if thats the issue? What makes the workstation a print server in particular? Thanks

I guess basically how do I replace the workstation and make it the new print controller? Thank you Wildbar.
