does anyone know where i can find the micros eclipse touch screen driver. i updraded to win xp and now the touch screen does not work.i have been searching for the past few days but all the drivers that i have found are for the touch screens that plug into the usb, serial port and the mouse port. i need the driver that suports the dvi port. thanks in advance.

Hi,
I always ran Eclipse on Win95. Sorry I cant help, but you may find there are no such drivers for XP. Your scenario is probably:
Running RES3 on Win2k or Server2k
Wont be able to upgrade with legacy hardware that is no longer supported.

Cheers

thanks for the link but it didnt work on my machine. the read me in the instructions says either a serial (COM) port or a USB port is required.

mrpinks3 thats what im begining to think also.

eclipse terminals do have either ELO or MicroTouch (now 3M) Touchscreen. So one of their drivers should work. Maybe they just emulate serial or USB connection...

Kind regards

btw - did you try the 3M software? It should search and find your touch controller on any port. Or you have an ELO Touch, then you should try this one

So your touchscreen is connected to COM2 - as expected.

Page 8:
"Integrated DVI Connector for Touchscreen display containing output for power,
video signal, and touchscreen COM from on cable."

On Page 4 it says: Touchscreen - COM2

... so ... try again ...

Kind regards

still not having any luck. i have tried just about every driver for win xp. i took one screen apart and it did have a elo tag inside it. i ran the comdump.exe from the elo website and got the following error.

the system cannot open com 2 port reqested by the application.

then it gave me the option to either close the program or ignore the error. when i ignored the error i got the following.

port: com 2 [02f8] irq 3
baud: 9600
mode: none
type:

do you think this is my problem ? i did try six different touch screen's and got the same error.

Hmmm, let me think ... I had a "serial port blocked" problem some years ago, but do not really remember what I did to fix it.
Maybe some steps to a possible solution:
- Rename the COM2 to COM3 (or whatever)
- look into the BIOS settings for COM2
- look if BIOS allows a plug and play OS somewhere
- look if any other software or service uses COM2

... still waiting for micros to come back to me ...

Kind regards
