Micros 9700 HMS ODBC?

Is there an ODBC or other way to SQL into the Micros 9700 HMS? I would like to extract information or even update if possible via SQL. All the adds for Micros say its SQL compliant but have found very little info on this subject.

Not sure ... although that you should note that marketing hype (theirs or anyone else's) claiming SQL compliant doesn't necessarily mean "Microsoft SQL Server" compliant. It may just mean that the underlying DBMS supports some flavor of the SQL language (of which there are many.)

To quote one of the blurbs

The system employs Structured Query Language (SQL), an industry-standard method for accessing database information, so data can be stored with most software packages.


This statement is only slightly more informative than saying that "... our car runs on real fuel ...". Probably true but pretty much content free.

As far as I remember you have to buy special licensed module in order to be able to connect
