I have had the same errors come up in the past, and I was able to load a prior database to fix the issue. This time, however, no prior database will allow RES to start without errors.

After reading through the various threads that match this problem, I have yet to find any that address the answer to this one, sadly. My workstations, restaurant, and SQL Database Server all show as being active with a green arrow on the Micros Control Panel. I am able to change settings and view the database tables while it is running.

Outside of the firewall, we had a couple changes which *might* have affected it...namely that there are some top-level router IP changes that may have occurred. But, I'm typing this on the database server which is unable to access it's self-same database, so the top-level changes are still granting Internet access to the firewall properly.

Furthermore, after I clear the opsdbs.cpp Call Failed errors, it asks if I want to enter Backup Server Mode...but my ID doesn't grant access to it. Where do I go to enable my user to have access to enable the Backup Server?

Thank you for your help!

Employee Classes, Options, Other Parameters, Enable Back Up Server Mode

Thanks, Wildbar, I was able to give my user class permission to enter Backup Server Mode. However, after saving the changes, it is still saying my user ID isn't authorized.

This really sounds like an issue I had the other day. DB loaded to FOH and green check marks, but OPS was asking to enter BSM. This was after a patch though. Have you tried a DM rebuild or update?

Thank you for your reply, Kartel1. You're right - a problem could be arise through a mismatched database. We did attempt rebuilding it and updating with a patch, but it didn't change anything, so I rolled back the changes to ensure that we might still be able to get the cards run through standalone mode on the workstations.
