We promoted a employee from Bar Back to Bartender. I added the new job choice and marked as Primary. Micros will not let me delete the old job. I even went in and gave the old job an effective date of 12/31/2099 and selected the box to Omit from SRG.

I do not want the employee to have the ability to clock in as Bar Back. I'm assuming their is a way to do this with out deleting current Employee Profile and creating new one?

You wont be able to delete the job from the employee until any employee data attached to that persons profile has purged out. I.e. time card clock in / out. You can set it up that employees need a managers auth to clock in for a job that they are not scheduled for. That should keep them from clocking into the wrong job.

Hopefully that is not the only way as we do not use the scheduler built in Micros. Any other suggestions?

You might be able to change the "Override Clock Privilege" on the job screen. Set the privilege to the max for the job you do not want them to use. It should prompt them for a managers swipe if they try and clock in to the wrong job. I have not tested this.

The only real option you're going to have is to create a new employee if its that important. You could also just tell the employee not to clock in with the wrong job... if they were promoted, the new job probably pays more, right? Seems a good incentive for them to clock in correctly.

Andy Your best bet is to create a new employee entry for them. The other options get pretty messy if you start editing clock in levels for a specific job type.
