Micros 3700 KDS not updating check changes

I have a Micros 3700 v4.8 POS system running on a Windows XP server and have just changed the KDS operation to dynamic order mode. The new workflow involves an employee taking an order, handing the customer a chit to be delivered to a cashier who then assigns a pager for the order.

I have set the Devices/Order Devices/Dynamic Order Mode to Fire on the fly (I also tried Fire on tender). I set the Revenue Center/RVC Transactions/Quick Service to Enable dynamic order mode.

What I expected to happen was that whenever a check is modified by adding a check ID or new menu item or when it is tendered that the updates would appear on the KDS screen entry. But it does not.

Can anyone give me guidance as to what configuration options I have missed to make this work properly?

Have you stopped and restarted the KDS controller service?
Most KDS changes need a service restart.
