Hi all,

I need to get some data from Micros 3700. I do Java development and very familiar with Sybase.

Unfortunately I know nothing about Micros.

How can I install a test system (non-working, but so I can access database and retrieve some data) on my PC?

Is there a test system available? Online? On DVD? All the links in this forum are expired.

Do I need dongle?

If it is not expensive, I am willing to buy it. But eBay is selling various systems and configurations - which is most common or best for testing?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance!
Walter

You can install the software and run it in demo mode for testing.
To get a live system you will need a dongle (or similar licensing) and have the codes that match the dongle. Buying a dongle second hand to be legit you will need to pay Oracle some re-licensing fees....not going to be cheap.
Also if you buy something off ebay you will be stuck with that version level unless you pay Oracle for upgrade codes.
I have the base versions of the software from 1.0 through 5.0. You can then get the latest patch upgrades free from the Oracle web site.
Do you know what version you are looking for?
And what data is it you want to retrieve?

Hi Wildbar,

Thank you so much! Yes - it looks like I'll be OK with just the software and running it in demo mode.

All we are looking for is Micros 4.x and 5.x to poll for daily pmix (Menu Item Sales) and revenues by menu group.

Can you share where to find the base versions for test only?

FYI Oracle doesn't sell the physical dongles anymore. You just need to buy the license codes. Oracle does NOT re-sell licenses, so if you buy a dongle second hand, they WILL NOT re-license it for you. You just end up buying all the license codes again.
