So I'm trying to use a custom period to set up Happy Hour Buttons/Pricing. I have buttons I have put in for the Happy Hour items, so that I don't have to worry about putting in two prices. I set up a period called Happy Hour, similar to my Lunch and Dinner periods. I set the Main Level as 4 and all sublevels. My problem is that no matter what my time range for Happy Hour is, the buttons that I set with the Happy Hour Period, all work, regardless of time. I'm not sure exactly what I'm doing wrong, as my Lunch and Dinner periods restrict their buttons appropriately.

Make sure either button doesn't have the incorrect Main Level. Example: lunch Item has a Main Level of 3 selected and Main Level 4 is not selected. Also, make sure your Menu Levels under the RVC Parameters have the correct Auto Menu Levels set. So Main Level 3 (Lunch) is set to start and end at the certain time, and the Happy Hour is set to start and end at the specified time.

Can the periods overlap? Like lunch ends at 3, but Happy Hour starts at 2?

No, if I remember correctly the item will use the first service period's price. It would be best to stop the Lunch at the time the Happy Hour starts. Being that you are at happy hour, it wouldn't seem right to charge a guest the normal amount if they are ordering during happy hour.
