Howdy!
2 GSS Related Questions:
1) Expiration dates. Our policy is that our gift cards expire at 1 year from issue. However, we've ran into issues where the customer adds funds to the GC past the date of issue and the expiration date does not reset. Meaning, if a customer were to add $50 to a GC that is unknowingly 11 months from first issue, it still expires 1 month later. In addition, my company recycles GCs that are zeroed out, however we recently discovered that when we re-issue these cards, the expiration date does not change from its first issue. Needless to say, we've had to disable expiration dates as a temporary fix. Is there a workaround available?
2) I've heard tell that there are ways out there to set up GCs to auth/close similar to credit cards? I'm looking for a way for our cashiers to swipe, print with check remaining open, have customer sign check, and then close check with any additional tip deducted from the card.
Question 1 is definitely a priority, I just thought I'd combine both into a single thread. With that said, I've had a support ticket open with Oracle for nearly a month as I await to hear back from a "tier 2 engineer". Any insight as to whether or not there is a simple workaround would be appreciated.
