I just purchased a cheap microphone (under $10.00) for my Samsung PC. The manufacturer of the microphone is Kensiko and it is a multimedia clip-on microphone. No instructions came with it and no CD with driver. I have Windows 98 as an OS. How do I get this thing working on my PC?

Check to see if the Microphone volume is muted. To do this, double click on the volume control icon on the bottom of your screen (or access it in your start menu). If you don't see a volume control for "Microphone" select options/properties from the menu. scroll down the and click in the box next to "Microphone". Click OK. You should now see volume control for your microphone. Make sure it is not muted and the volume is a reasonable level.

have you confirmed the Mic works on another machine ? try it in a hi-fi or plug it into your speaker out ( low volume), speakers and mic's are pretty much the same only opposite constructions so you should here sound coming out. If in doubt get the Ball Pein Hammer out
