On Win98 we used the standard Microsoft Backup to backup to Zip disk. By telling the software that the disk was a tape (hence writing a .qif backup file) we were able to use compression - hence keeping the main database backup to one disk. This worked quickly and efficiently and did not cause any problems either with backup or restore of data.
The Win2000 Professional version of Microsoft Backup will not let me call the Zip disk a tape, and hence will not let me compress the data - any ideas how I can use Microsoft Backup WITH compression (I don't want to have to use winzip if possible)to do my backup to a Zip disk?
