I have the same problem that is described in the bulletin. Here are the messages I get when booting the MGC after I have configured it:

Received an upgrade request. Preparing MGC for upgrade.

Auto commit option has been enabled.
Upgrade of CSP loadware initiated.
OMM: IP link is UP between Primary Call Server and MGC 1
OMM: IP link is DOWN between Primary Call Server and MGC 1

I have tried 2 different switches as well as the direct card-to-card connection. I know I don't have IP connectivity problems. I also know that I have IP user ISMs in the keycode so the bulletin resolution is no good in my case.

Anyone else have this problem? The CS is fully patched.

As long as you have the required IP Licenses, then remove the card from the MCG, delete all of the files from it, and then put it back in the MGC and power up.

You can also format this SD from the MGC command line interface.

Was this used with another Call Server? The MGC IP references may be wrong.

I removed the files from the cf but it went back to the same behavior. I am having this same problem on 2 different cards so I am thinking it is something wrong with my call server. How do you format the CF from the MGC cammand line?

thanks
rob

I forget if it's in PDT or the Shell of that card, but if you are familiar with those areas you will be able to search out the command. If not, suggest you not poke around and call in for support. I saw this once when changing the CS ELAN IP address reference on the MGC card. The card was looking in the wrong spot. A wipe of that SD card let the Gold Image reload from scratch where the new IP information could then be put in and it was good to go in a few minutes.

Had the same problem on a new install with the exception that other messages would come up stating that some file update failed and it turned out to be a bad card.

I thought I had a bad card there as well TN, but was able to clear it with the notes from the solutions tool. There were a few solutions I had to read through to find it though.

I was not able to clear mone either and had to install a new card. What really got to me on this was when I tried to enable a TMDI and nothing would happen. Analog and digital sets would work though.

Okay, here is a good one............The problem ended up being that I had my Alternate CS1 fields filled in on the MGC but my Alternate Call Servers were not active on the network yet. I needed to remove the Alternate CS hostname and IP with MGCSETUP and the card came up fine and then upgraded no problem. Evidently you can also wait until the alternate CS is online, then power up the MGC, but I have not tried that yet.

Bottom line, another known problem that is not in the NTPs, has no bulletin, and is not on the solution search.

Hi i am having same problem, I have 16 Ip users ISM but it is for future use thats why i dont have Signalling server installed. Only MGC+CPPM card with 150 analog/digital extension, no IP ext required. I have 2 DSP daughter board installed on MGC and i already configured them in CPPM. What shpould i do to get rid of this same error without EM or SS.
Regards

Nortelcs100e5, you have to have a Signaling Server on rls 5.0 if you dont, you can do your jobs. You need SS to transfer MGC and DSP property to the CS.
