Have a customer with a fire alarm panel connected to an analog port off a MG1000 cabinet (NTDU14/NTDU15). Said the alarm panel dialer is having issues due to low voltage on the line (from the alarm company). Threw a voltmeter on the line and sure enough I'm seeing 40.5 volts on all ports - digital and analog.

I don't have access to an Option 11/61/81 at the moment but I could swear voltages coming out of there is in the 48-50 volt neighborhood.

Of course he should be running that panel off a POTS line, and not the PBX. But shouldn't this system be putting out 48 volts to all ports?

Thanks.

Yep, right at 40.5 volts on MG1000 chassis. 44 volts on a cabinet. An OPX card may have to be installed to make it work.

OK - so that's just how they are. Either that or a line voltage booster perhaps.

Great - thanks!
