I had this message also.
Check if your db is not down.
That in configuration Manager you have a user/password valid for the db

Does your server is having all the needed tools to get the connection to the db ?? For Oracle you need some java applet for the connection.

database is up.
JVM is installed.
i am able to connect to database from sqlplus
username and password are valid.

(if username/password/database nmae are invalid, how will it create the so many tables and other oracle objects??)

regards,
sudhi

anyone knows how to resolve this...

Do you use ODBC connection?
If yes, assure you that connection string is ok; it's probably your TNSNames.

for easy reference i kept my database sid and tnsnames entry same.
in sqlplus i am able to connect to the database. even i tried a sample java program to check the jdbc driver, that also works.

Check that your db user-id and Password is correct in Configuration manager. When creating the DB you start it from command line , and give it user-id and password for the DB , so it s possible that you create the DB , but that Metrics Manager is not configured properly in Configuration Manager.

the same userid, tnsname, sid, host, port all configured in config.manager and applied, service re-started. When i checked in the cmm_install_location\bin\cocoonparams.xml file, i can see all the parameters updated perfectly.

sudhi

Do you still need assistance with your install? I may be able to help.
