metrics problem

hey guys,
i have a report which has two attributes, and i am using a object prompt to add a metric at run time. the metrics in the prompt are all compound metrics, and then i use a rank function to rank those metrics.so i will be getting the ranks of the selected metric.but i want the metric values instead of the ranks, but ranked from 1st to last. is there any way of achieving this without adding any extra object prompts to the report where in i will ask the user to prompt for the metric and again prompt the user to select the metric he want to rank on.

when i said the metrics to ranked from 1st to last, i meant i want top 50 , not all the metrics values that r present in the database

yeah, it's pretty easy. Here's what you have to do.

1) create the metric prompt, which you probably already have. Let's say it's called P1
2) create another metric called M1 defined as Rank(?P1). This allows your metric prompt selection to be sent directly to M1 without reprompting.
3) in your report or filter add a metric qualification M1<50. This will pull the top 50 records.
4) place ?P1 on your template.

that should do it.
