Is there a method I can use for alternating shading on the background of a report header? I have 4 sections on a header with a Unbound text box, shading that and then send to background with the control boxes sitting on top. Is that possible in an Access report ? Thank you in advance for helping me think this through. Last piece of this scorecard project has me struggling..

I expect you could use rectangles that are sent to the back. You might want to set all of your text boxes in this section to a transparent back color.

Thank you Duane for your quick response. When you say use rectangles, do you mean using a label or text box? Or is there a different way to add a rectangle? Also not sure where you control send to back. Thanks again.

There is a rectangle tool in the Controls of the design ribbon. Right-clicking a control in design view displays a shortcut menu which includes: Position Bring to Front or Send to Back.
