Hi,
I am running MetaFrame 1.8 for Win2K on a terminal server. A metaFrame book I have recommends setting up a scheduled reboot to clean things up, preferably nightly. I used the command tsshutdn /reboot in the MS scheduler. Problem is, when I check the machine the next day it says "It's now safe to shut down your computer". But if I execute the command exactly the same way at a command prompt, it reboots! Any ideas?

It's been a while now, but I believe I was calling the tsshtdn command through the MS scheduler.

I think even the shutdown tool from NT4 resource kit would let you reboot servers remotely... Peter Van Eeckhoutte

Throw that book away and find another one. I have taken my citrix certification and yes it is recommended to perform maintenance reboots (ours was once a month) but never once a day

You're a little off topic. That doesn't answer my question. I too have certifications and know that in the real world they don't mean squat. The foundation of MetaFrame is NT, which is notorious for getting buggered up and screeching to a halt. Sometimes daily, weekly, or monthly, depending on the circumstances.
Also, the book I have is NOT a certification book. It's a "meat and potatoes" real-world handbook. Which as most know, contains completely different information than a certification study book. i.e. Citrix would not in a million years recommend rebooting a MetaFrame server daily, even if necessary.
Ever try using a study guide as a reference on a site? Forget it.
